get to know me

My story

Art has always been a part of my life, like an old friend who never left me, even though I strayed away to pursue things I deemed “better,” such as getting a degree in the science field. While science degrees are important, they didn’t suit me, and I was left with the feeling that I wasn’t good enough. After countless failed attempts at obtaining a four-year degree in different medical fields, I finally had a heart-to-heart with myself, and realized that I had been causing myself pain by trying to be someone I wasn’t. From the very beginning, I had always been an artist, communicator, and storyteller, and I had always tried my best to understand each medium I worked with. After asking myself why I didn’t pursue art in my younger years, I realized that blaming my parents and friend group wouldn’t help me; I needed to go through all the phases of life to get to where I am now. Without those painful and eye-opening experiences, I would not be the designer I am today. After 10 years of trying to obtain various science degrees and failing, I decided to go back to my roots and let myself “bee me,” and I have never been happier. In the one year I have pursued design, I have felt the most passion and love for a degree than ever before.
